As we continue to grow, we are seeking a qualified and experienced Laboratory Director to lead our  team and ensure operational excellence.

Position Overview:

The Laboratory Director will serve as the Laboratory Technical Director for Chanalytical Labs, overseeing all technical operations, maintaining regulatory compliance, and ensuring the highest standards of environmental analysis.  This leadership role is ideal for a hands-on, detail-oriented professional with a strong scientific background and proven management capabilities. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the Technical Director of the laboratory, ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and accreditation standards.
  • Oversee daily operations related to environmental chemistry testing and quality assurance.
  • Supervise and support laboratory staff in technical procedures and professional development.
  • Maintain and enhance standard operating procedures, safety protocols, and data integrity practices.
  • Ensure timely and accurate generation, review, and reporting of analytical data.
  • Prepare for and lead internal and external audits and inspections.
  • Maintain laboratory certifications and accreditations, and stay current with industry best practices.
Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, environmental science, biological sciences, physical sciences, or engineering.
  • At least two (2) years of experience in environmental analysis.
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with EPA methods and NELAC standards.
  • Familiarity with the Maine Drinking Water Program.
  • Experience managing laboratory personnel and technical workflows.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with LIMS and data quality systems.

Compensation: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
